This webinar presents a collaborative initiative between MED-EL and Starkey aimed at advancing bimodal hearing solutions through the introduction of DualSync – a Bluetooth streaming synchronisation framework designed to optimise compatibility between MED-EL cochlear implant audio processor and Starkey hearing aids. DualSync seeks to improve auditory outcomes for individuals using a cochlear implant in one ear and a hearing aid in the other.
Led by clinical and technical experts from both organisations, the session explores the underlying clinical rationale for bimodal hearing, highlight key technological features of MED-EL cochlear implants and Starkey hearing aids, and provide a detailed demonstration of the DualSync pairing process. The webinar also presents real-world case studies illustrating collaborative care models and patient outcomes, supported by recent research on processing delays and interaural latency in bimodal users.
